Birman earns best of breed
Matamata woman Irene Collins took home the top prize at the 2012 New Zealand Birman Show with her 15-month-old birman Shinoto De Ja Vu.
Along with the Supreme Overall Champion award, he won Supreme Champion Birman, Best in Show and an assortment of other prizes.
The show, held in Drury last month, was the third one in which De Ja Vu had competed and Ms Collins said he had a good future ahead of him.
‘‘I’m really proud of him. He’s perfect, I couldn’t ask for a better cat. I’m really happy with the way he did.’’
She would like to thank Waihou breeders Rosemary and Barry Wilson, from whom she bought De Ja Vu as a kitten.
