Mata­mata Col­lege is a state co-ed­u­ca­tional sec­ondary school of 900 stu­dents sit­u­ated in the heart of the Waikato.

The school was es­tab­lished in 1918 and has been on its present site since 1925. It has a rich and proud his­tory of success in aca­demic, sport­ing and cul­tural fields and has pro­duced many out­stand­ing aca­demics, busi­ness peo­ple, sports peo­ple and artists in a wide range of fields.

Mata­mata Col­lege pro­vides a broad cur­ricu­lum to help meet the learn­ing needs of ev­ery stu­dent and of­fers a wide range of sport­ing, cul­tural and so­cial op­por­tu­ni­ties to help stu­dents en­joy success and grow as pos­i­tive young peo­ple. Mata­mata Col­lege teach­ers be­lieve in a holis­tic ed­u­ca­tion and have strong aca­demic pro­grammes, sup­ported by strong sport and cul­tural op­por­tu­ni­ties that ev­ery stu­dent is en­cour­aged to take ad­van­tage of.

The col­lege is blessed with beau­ti­ful grounds and is very well re­sourced and a most pleas­ant learn­ing en­vi­ron­ment.
