These are just some of the ques­tions you may want know when mov­ing to a new dis­trict.

Below is a list of Mata­mata-Pi­ako Dis­trict Coun­cil fa­cil­i­ties and ser­vices that you’ll find help­ful to know.

Wel­come to the Mata­mata-Pi­ako dis­trict. Mata­mata-Pi­ako Dis­trict Coun­cil refuse bags (20kg max a bag).

Place bags in clear view of the kerb by 7.30am on your col­lec­tion day.

Please wrap bro­ken glass or sharp ob­jects in news­pa­per.

Re­cy­cling Col­lec­tion (Green bin and pa­per)

Your re­cy­cling will be col­lected the same day as your rub­bish.

Re­cy­clables with grades 1-7 are in­cluded in the kerb­side col­lec­tion.

Please place your green bin in clear view of the kerb

Place card­board/pa­per in a plas­tic bag or tie it up with string on the kerb be­side your bin.

Ex­tra re­cy­clables can be dis­posed of free of charge at your trans­fer sta­tion Mata­mata Man­gawhero Rd Phone: 888 5700 Open 10am till 4pm Tues­day, Wed­nes­day, Thurs­day, Satur­day and Sun­day.

House­hold quan­ti­ties of hazardous waste can be dis­posed of free of charge, in­clud­ing paints, sol­vents, clean­ing flu­ids, car bat­ter­ies and oil.
