Te Poi Hall celebrated
This year the Matamata Historical Society will hold its annual “Celebrating Country Halls” meeting at Te Poi Hall.
It’s the Te Poi Hall’s 90th birthday so it should be well worth attending this function on Tuesday, August 28 at 1.30pm.
A programme is being organised which will include the monthly Historical Society meeting, remembering that many meetings have been held here during the past 90 years.
There will also be a raffle, talks about the Te Poi Hall and district by local speakers, singing items, community singing, a demonstration of old time dancing and historical books will be on sale.
This will be followed by a delicious afternoon tea and the cutting of the 90th birthday cake.
Past and present welcome to attend.
Please bring a plate as was the custom throughout the years.
See the public notices in today’s Chronicle for further information.
