Careers expo set to guide students

Matamata Chronicle - - News -

Matamata College is hosting a careers pathway expo tomorrow night (Thursday, August 16) to help students explore their opportunities for the future.

Universities and polytechnics from around New Zealand will be represented, as well as local businesses, armed forces and other training organisations.

Careers adviser Kym BoltonHampton said the evening was a chance for students and their parents to talk directly to the providers.

“It’s going to be a really valuable evening,” she said.

“The children can find out firsthand about courses offered, prerequisites they might need, student living, everything they need to know.”

Attending the expo could help students to make subject choices and set them on the right path for what they want to do, said Mrs BoltonHampton.

For further information contact the careers department at Matamata College on 881 9018.
