Dot and Mick Veal

Matamata Chronicle - - Celebrating 90 Years Of Service To The Matamata Di -

When Dot & Mick Veal immigrated to New Zealand 7 years ago, they made Matamata their home. “When we first arrived we stayed with friends while looking to buy,” says Dot. “Our friends where very generous and gave us a lovely bed to sleep in, but Mick and I wanted to buy our own bed. We went to Waterson’s and they sold us this fabulous bed, but it did weigh quite a bit. Not that that was really a problem because they delivered it for us, but what was so nice was when we eventually bought our own home a few months later Waterson’s came and moved our bed to the new place. We had of course bought other furniture to go into our home, but that is beside the point, they didn’t have to move the bed, they just did. The other thing that my husband I have loved about shopping at Watersons is that they let you take it home and try it. I really wanted a big square dining suite that would seat eight and thought that one would fit in the spot I had planned. They let me take one home to try and it turned that it just didn’t look right, so they simply came and picked it back up. Nothing was a bother the service was fantastic and of course they found the dining suite that was a perfect fit. I guess the other thing that I wanted to say is that it didn’t matter that we had only just immigrated and that they didn’t know us from a bar of soap, they trusted us. It was just marvellous.”

Dot and Mick, couldn’t be happier with

their purchases from Waterson’s.
