Meet your Waterson’s team

Matamata Chronicle - - Celebrating 90 Years Of Service To The Matamata Di -

Mandy McNeill: My name is Mandy McNeill. I have worked at Waterson’s Furniture Court as a sales consultant for six and half years. I had a two year break when I moved to Tauranga and rejoined the team at the end of 2009. I have lived in Matamata since I was a baby on the family farm at Wardville. I have two sons, Paul and Sean, a daughter-in-law Mizue, and a cute-as-a button grand- daughter Sophie who is now 5 years old. Robyn Vickers: My name is Robyn Vickers, I have been working in the flooring department at Waterson’s for the past three months and whilst it has been a steep learning curve, I have thoroughly enjoyed it. There is a great deal more to learn in flooring than I ever would have imagined, but I am finding it interesting and stimulating, there is always something new and different to learn or do. I am a mother of four, with two daughters still at home, Ainsley who is 19 and Briar who is 14. Tony van der Zouwe: Hello, my name is Tony van der Zouwe (bedroom sales consultant) I have been working for Waterson’s Furniture Court for 3½ years, previously employed at Bedpost St Lukes in Auckland. It was a big step in my life to move to a new town but I have had no regrets and have made some great friends. The main aspect I like about this business is the close contact you build with customers and helping them with product knowledge, solving customer queries but above all being respectful and friendly to them. Tot ziens - see you later. Penny Tomalin: Hi, my name is Penny Tomalin and my title here at Waterson’s is Receptionist / Administrator. I will be celebrating 4 years (this time round) with the company in October, but worked here previously before having my 2 awesome boys, Cody & Dylan, having started my 1st employment at Waterson’s in June 2002 (10 years ago!). I work only school hours so I still get to enjoy the job of motherhood as well. Every day at work (and home) brings me a new challenge, and I enjoy the challenge! Sherree Barron: My name is Sherree Barron. I am a Sales Consultant at Waterson’s Furniture Court. I have been with the company for one and half years. Before I joined the team at Waterson’s, I worked at the Warehouse, Matamata part-time. I have lived in Matamata most of my life, having spent three years in Taupo where I worked at a Furniture Department. I have two wonderful teenage daughters, Ashley 19 and Lisa 17, whom I adore. I live with my partner Richard and our cat “Jerry”. Eric Hauraki: Hi I am Eric Hauraki and I’m the delivery and storeman at Waterson’s Furniture and Carpet Court. I have been employed here for 5 months and I’m really enjoying being part of the team. I was born and bred in Matamata, and brought up on the family farm in Ngarua. I live with my wife and mother-in-law in Waharoa. I am a father of 10 and a grandfather of 26 (with one more on the way)! I enjoy hunting, fishing, chainsawing and a few beers after a hard days work! Blair Werder: Blair is 37 years of age, born in Te Aroha and raised in Hamilton. Now living back in Te Aroha. Blair loves Pinna Coladas and walks in the rain, his wife Tara and six year old Samantha. Blair also loves nothing better than sweating it out on the squash court and then replacing lost fluid with the amber nectar. Blair has been at Waterson’s for close to five years and is passionate about selling carpet, and enjoys seeing the end result of a well done job (smiling customers). Cheers for the beers – Thanks for the years
