On Satur­day three teams trav­elled to Ro­torua, for the Red Stag Red­woods For­est Re­lay.

This a 5x5 kilo­me­tre of­froad re­lay, which brings teams from all over the North Is­land to race against each other, as well as pro­vid­ing some club com­pe­ti­tion among their own teams.

This year our women’s team was placed sec­ond in a strong field, a re­sult all were pleased with, as well as win­ning the pres­i­dent’s shout of some drinks later on in the sea­son.

Richard Orr was the fastest male run­ner in a time of 19.43 and Anne Marie Scott tak­ing the fastest fe­male time in 22.46. Club re­sults were: Masters Men: D Tay­lor 25.08, G Vallen 22.08, R Orr 19.48, R Feaver 24.01 G Wil­liams 22.55.

Masters Men B team: V Parker 29.55, G Ralph 27.02, G Cad­die 32.48, L Morley 32.56, M Levers 27.54.

Masters Womens: A M Scott 22.46, J Brady 29.15, D Jenk­ins 27.04, P Stitch­bury 25.38 Gill Hamp­ton 28.47.

This Satur­day the club is host­ing the Thames Val­ley Road Champs from the Wairakau Hall. Mem­bers are asked to bring a gen­er­ous plate for af­ter­noon tea.

Rac­ing starts at 12.30pm.
