Firth School plans jubilee to celebrate 50th birthday
On February 4, 1963, Firth School opened with a roll of 214.
Firth School marks its 50th birthday next year and people who have had any association with the school, whether it be as a past student or staff member, are being invited to join in a weekend of birthday celebrations.
The Firth School 50th jubilee celebration will take place on Friday, April 5 and Saturday, April 6, 2013.
On April 5 there will be an open day at the school from 11.30am.
This will give past students the chance to see the changes that have taken place during the last 50 years.
A meet and mingle evening
will take place on the Friday evening.
Saturday evening will give people the opportunity to catch up with old buddies. There will be live music and fabulous food.
There is a $15 registration fee, $30 for the Friday evening meet and mingle only, $60 for the Saturday evening only or $100 to attend both days.
If more than 500 registrations are received before January 2013, the jubilee celebrations will be held solely at Firth School.
Members of the organising committee are hoping to get as many people along as possible and believe it will be the perfect opportunity to catch up with old mates.
To collect your registration form go to the Firth School reception area, phone 888 7396 or go online to firth.school.nz and click on 50th Reunion Updates.
