That was the last we will see of Warhorse on a New Zealand race­track, as he has gone for a spell be­fore en­ter­ing quar­an­tine and join­ing the Mark Walker sta­ble in Sin­ga­pore, where the colt’s owner Tang Weng Fei re­sides.

Back on the lo­cal rac­ing scene, Mata­mata-trained horses took five of the eight-race card on their home track last Fri­day and an­other six at Te Rapa the next day. Au­gusta Na­tional apart, the Mata­mata win­ners were the Wayne and Vanessa Hil­lis-trained and part-owned Ar­ma­dio Estrada, Gra­ham Richard­son’s Burbero, the An­drew Scott-trained An­gel’s Share, and to round off pro­ceed­ings, Olivia Ann from the Phil Stevens sta­ble.
