Artist portrays daily activity in school grounds

Matamata Chronicle - - News -

Artist Anne de Silva has created a one-of-akind artwork for Hinuera Primary School. The painting gives a birds-eye view of the school and is full of tiny details that show what Hinuera Primary is all about. Principal Dean McDonnell said it was a bit like Where’s Wally – if you look closely you can see children helping each other, recycling or playing sport. De Silva said it had been tricky trying to figure out how the school would look from the sky. Coincidentally, a pilot visited the school with an aerial shot he had taken of the area as de Silva was working on the project. The painting was unveiled at a special assembly last Tuesday.
