Road skater hit by car
Police attended an accident on SH27 in Waharoa. A 10-year-old girl was hit by a car as she was skateboarding across the road. She was checked over by a doctor and, luckily, was not seriously hurt.
At 4.40am police attended a crash on Mangawhero Rd where a 21-year-old drove off the road on his way to work and hit a tree. Firefighters cut him from his car and he was taken to Waikato Hospital with serious injuries. A white 1992 Mazda Capella station wagon, registration TT5534, was stolen from a Smith St property overnight. A 1977 Mazda 323, registration IK9624, was also taken from inside a garage on Allenby Rd. Police believe the offenders had prior knowledge of this car. A 33- year- old man was arrested for theft of drugs from a local vet clinic.
At 6pm a person visiting from the South Island saw from a distance someone entering his car. A member of the public also saw someone breaking into the car and called the police. As a result, two boys, aged 14 and 16, were dealt with by police and a Navman GPS was recovered.
Police carried out a search warrant at a Hawes St address in Waharoa. As a result, a 22- year- old man was arrested for a rural residential burglary that took place on December 4, 2012.
A vehicle was impounded after the driver was found to be driving while forbidden.
Police were called to an address in Waharoa after reports of a firearm being used. Three youths were found in possession of an air rifle, which was confiscated and returned to an adult. Police would like to remind people that air rifles can be dangerous and can easily be mistaken for firearms.
Police attended a crash on SH27 at Kneebones Bridge, where a truck lost control and jackknifed, narrowly avoiding a head-on collision. The driver was unhurt.
A Waharoa property was broken into overnight and a television was taken. Police are following positive lines of inquiry.
Overnight, an effluent pump, pictured, worth $12,000 was taken from outside a cow shed on a Henry Watson Rd property. Security footage shows two men in a ute driving up and stealing the pump.

A 45- year- old man was airlifted to Waikato Hospital with serious injuries after he lost control of his motorbike on a onelane bridge on Armadale Rd. A man was arrested in Matamata for breach of bail.
