Make room for coaches

Matamata Chronicle - - News/opinion -

Does Matamata want the tourists?

Recently and on other occasions I have been to Railside by the Green to pick up my wife from her voluntary duty at the Citizens Advice Bureau. On January 29 there were four large coaches parked on the railside green.

Why doesn’t the Matamata Piako District Council put in angle parking on the green that is similar to bus depots?

It is a terrible green to say the least, and does not appear to put Matamata in good light (not a green lawn).

The other day I had to ask the driver of a campervan to move on to the green as its tail stuck out into roadway (not allowed in the Hetana parking area any more).

I know that the Annual Sculpture Symposium is held on the green but does this want all the green, the coaches come throughout the year.
