$27,000 grant for cowshed display
Matamata- Piako’s three museums can carry forward district council grants.
At a recent council meeting it was discussed that the museum societies in Matamata, Te Aroha and Morrinsville have worked together for a number of years.
An initial grant of $ 10,000 each was combined in the 2010- 2011 financial year to $30,000 for a curator to work with the three societies.
The museums then indicated they wanted to pursue an alternative arrangement with Waikato Museum, which saw $10,800 of the grant spent.
The balance of $ 19,200 has been brought forward with the 2012-2013 grant of another $30,000.
More than $ 27,000 has been earmarked for a cowshed display at Firth tower Museum in Matamata.
