The Camera and Photography Expo will be held in Matamata next Friday for the first time.

Kodak Store Matamata is hosting the event and new owners Marnie and Paul Sutherland said it was a chance for people to see another side of the photography industry.

‘‘There are lots of ways to transform and re- create your images and the best way for us to demonstrate the variety was with a fun expo.’’

Photography was something many people had a passion for, and was a way to capture life’s special moments, said Marnie.

Representatives from Nikon, Olympus and Panasonic will be on hand and there will be a photo booth and retouching demonstrations. There will also be an exclusive section for hunters.

‘‘ The reps are going to bring a huge range of products that we cannot stock instore, including scopes and binoculars,’’ said Marnie.

From 3pm there will be a bouncy castle and sausage sizzle .

There will also be the chance to win either a professional portrait session or a photography lesson.

The expo will run from 10am till 9pm.
