Chance to find ‘treasure’ while helping raise funds for charity

Matamata Chronicle - - News - By DAVID HULME

Garage- sale enthusiasts take note – the Rotary Club of Matamata is holding a monster garage sale out the front of Matamata College this Saturday to raise funds for charitable projects.

Club director David Parker said there would be a variety of items for sale as part of the event, with selling starting at 7am.

The club would gladly accept donations of goods to sell at the garage sale in the next couple of days, he said.

‘‘If anyone has anything they wish to donate to us, knowing that the proceeds of this event will go towards charitable endeavours that the club undertakes, we would be more than happy to accept these,’’ Mr Parker said.

‘‘We have run three garage sales in the past five years and they prove to be very popular with the community.

‘‘We are more than happy to arrange collection of any items people may wish to donate prior to the event,’’ he said.

Due to environmental concerns around the disposal of non-sold items, Mr Parker said the club could not accept donations of old televisions or computer screens, but any other ‘‘treasures’’ would be gratefully collected.

Anyone wishing to donate goods can contact Mr Parker on 888 7188 after hours, or Eric Muckle on 027 477 6033.
