‘Pay it forward’ to help someone needing a lift
Matamata’s Gloss Beauty is taking part in a global movement to inspire acts of kindness.
The idea is to pay it forward – to do good deeds for others without asking anything in return except that they do something for someone else.
Gloss will this week be handing out a hundred free vouchers to individuals and businesses in Matamata.
Those people will then be asked to hand the vouchers on to a person they think deserves it most.
When the recipient uses the voucher, the person that passed it on to them will go in the draw to win a pamper package.
Gloss owner Lisa van Dyk said it was a way the business could do something nice for the community.
‘‘We thought it would be a great way to give something back and to encourage the power of giving,’’ she said.
‘‘Whether that be to a friend or client who is going through a difficult time or someone who just deserves something nice for themselves.’’
Treatments offered will and makeup sessions.
‘‘We would like to make this an annual event,’’ Ms van Dyk said.
‘‘We would love to see other businesses get involved.’’
