On track to succeed

Matamata Chronicle - - News -

Matamata College’s student of the week is a year 9 student who is taking advantage of all the opportunities offered to her at Matamata College.

Tracey Thompson-Jackson (Tainui) is a fine all-round student doing her best in the classroom and in extracurricular activities.

While she enjoys

her classes, she cites maths, drama, health and physical education as her favourite subjects.

Tracey is an outstanding sportswoman and her deter- mination to succeed shines through when she competes. Winner of the overall Matamata College Junior Girls Athletics Championship title, Tracey backed this success up by winning the long jump, coming second in the 100m and third in the shot put at the Thames Valley Secondary Schools Athletics event.

Sport plays a huge part in Tracey’s life and she is trialling for Netball 9A, plays touch and also wants to play basketball for the school.

We look forward to watching this young woman as she aspires to be the best she can be.

Kia kaha Tracey.
