Matamata Chronicle - - News -

This week’s Student of the Week is Matamata College’s Academic Captain Timothy Gray.

Timothy has performed brilliantly in his end of year Scholarship exam gaining an elite Outstanding Scholarship Award in Year 13 Mathematics with Statistics while still a year 12 student. This is a fine effort from a young man who is a high achiever in all his subjects, especially mathematics and physics.

It is no surprise that Timothy’s academic success has assisted the College’s Future Problem Solving team, of which he is a member, to win the national Future Problem Solving competition. This means they are off to the World Champs in Bloomington, Indiana, USA in June. Timothy is also well known for his passion and ability in music.

He has a genuine ability to entertain as he has proven on many occasions playing the piano and electronic keyboard at school events.

University study beckons in 2014 with engineering and physics being the key focus as Timothy continues to strive for success.
