Double vision yes, two new trucks
There is a good buzz at the Matamata Volunteer Fire Brigade.
Last month, the station was given two new fire trucks by the New Zealand Fire Service.
‘‘I haven’t heard of it happening before,’’ chief fire officer Kevin Curtis said.
‘‘ The last time we had a new truck was seven years ago.
‘‘I think there’s definitely a good buzz through the brigade.’’
One truck, a type 1 with one high pressure hose reel, would most likely respond to a small fire.
The second, a type 2 with two high pressure hose reels and rescue extrication equipment, would respond to a car accident or search and rescue event.
