Farmers offered business insight

Matamata Chronicle - - News -

The Fonterra Shareholders’ Council is bringing two internationally renowned presenters to speak to Fonterra suppliers at eight seminars in May.

The Grow Your Minds Seminars series (GYMS) runs from May 20 to 24 and will feature presentations from two widely respected authorities on sustainability and business: Paul Gilding and Rod Oram.

Matamata Shareholders’ Councillor Grant Wills said the seminars will be a real eye-opener for many farmers.

‘‘ Paul Gilding

the world’s most experienced and respected business advisers and public speakers on sustainability, and Rod Oram is a respected business journalist and commentator,’’ he said.

‘‘We want our supplier shareholders to gain a greater under- standing of current sustainability and commercial issues, both nationally and globally, and how these relate to them – Paul and Rod will provide that insight.

‘‘We feel that with Paul’s mix of environmental and business wisdom and Rod’s focus on economics, we have a good balance and farmers will come away with some great learning and actions.’’

Mr Wills said the presentations would cut to the heart of the matter and provide farmers with clear, balanced insight into their changing business environment.

‘‘Topics will include what farmers are doing well, global customer expectations, where our strengths lie, what we can learn from the mistakes of others and how we can maintain and enhance our economic viability,’’ Mr Wills said.

‘‘We want to ensure farmers recognise the challenges and opportunities available, that they are well informed and that they are ready, willing and able to continue to contribute positively.’’

Shareholders are asked to RSVP to the Fonterra Supplier Services Team on 0800 65 65 68.
