Are you en­rolled for lo­cal elec­tions?

About 70,000 lo­cal elec­tion en­rol­ment packs have bounced back to Reg­is­trars of Elec­tors marked ‘‘gone no ad­dress’’.

The Elec­toral Com­mis­sion mailed up­date packs to the 3.1 mil­lion peo­ple on the elec­toral roll at the start of July, to make sure ev­ery­one who’s el­i­gi­ble is cor­rectly en­rolled to vote in this year’s lo­cal elec­tions.

Lo­cal elec­tions are held by postal vote, so it’s im­por­tant peo­ple are en­rolled at the cor­rect ad­dress.

Get­ting back on the roll is easy – go on­line at elec­tions.org.nz, free­text your name and ad­dress to 3676, call 0800 367 656 or go to any PostShop.

Peo­ple have un­til Au­gust 16 to en­rol in time to re­ceive their vot­ing pa­pers in the mail.
