Parks and playgrounds are important in our community. My interest in outdoor activities has seen my involvement in them.

It has given me great satisfaction to be involved with the development of the BMX track at Swap Park and also the combining of the Matamata Gun and Fishing Club. It was to their advantage to improve and share the same building. I’m supporting Matamata Swifts club in their endeavour to utilise Swap Park as a future venue.

I’m very aware of public money being spent carefully and with all age groups in mind.

My other interest and commitment is to make the best use of our most precious commodity, our water supply. Conservation and storage of water at home and in the council’s facilities needs to be carefully monitored.

To use treated water to water the garden and wash our cars is a luxury we can ill afford. My plan as a member of your council is to help change the way we source and store water for not only ourselves but for the generations to come.

I would like to continue as a member of our district council to ensure fair and reasonable spending in these testing times.
