I grew up on a dairy farm near Matamata and after working in Canada have returned home with my wife to raise our three small children.
I therefore have a vested interest in the development of our district and am committed to balancing the essential growth of agriculture and industry with the long-term needs of the environment and population.
With young children and parents and grandparents all living
in Matamata-Piako I am aware of the needs of all age groups and aim to represent these views on the council.
I have extensive experience on community boards which, combined with my background in scientific and policy work, will translate into strong and effective leadership on the MatamataPiako District Council as the community confronts issues of water and land usage, and the proposed amalgamation of smaller district councils.
