Confusion on rubbish pick-up

Matamata Chronicle - - News -

The first week of the new rubbish and recycling initiative has drawn to an end but not without a few challenges.

‘‘A new initiative as big as this can take a while for everyone involved to get used to and we have noticed some common confusion around the district,’’ said project manager Dave Locke.

Here are a few reminders:

Rubbish bags are collected every week. Te Aroha – Thursday. Matamata, Waharoa, Walton – Friday.

Morrinsville, Tahuna,

Waitoa and Waihou – Friday.

Your wheelie-bin and crate will be collected every fortnight on the same day as your rubbish. Use your green crate for recycling glass. Use your new black wheelie-bin for recycling clean paper, plastics, tins and cardboard.
