Wal­ton School pupil Maisie Mor­ris­sey has taken out Grand Cham­pion Calf at Mata­mata Group Day for the sec­ond year run­ning.

At 10 years old, she is just the third per­son since 1956 to win the cup two con­sec­u­tive years.

‘‘ I’m pretty happy ... re­ally happy,’’ said Maisie.

Maisie and her Jers­ey­cross calf Polly also won Cham­pion Rear­ing at Group Day and Cham­pion Lead­ing and Cham­pion Calf at the Wal­ton School Calf Club Day.

On Fri­day, they trav­elled to Hamil­ton for the Waikato A&P Show and Maisie won first for lead­ing, sec­ond for rear­ing and third for dairy type in the se­nior light­breed early-born sec­tion.

All up, the pair has won 16 rib­bons and four cups.
