Fonterra candidates on tour
Matamata farmers have a chance to meet candidates for Fonterra board elections.
Candidate roadshow meetings are coming to Matamata and Te Awamutu tomorrow.
Eric Ray from Morrinsville and Michael Spaans, who farms at Manawaru, are among five candidates for three farmer vacancies.
Candidate profiles and voting papers are due out to Fonterra shareholders this week and displayed on Fencepost via fonterra.com.
Elections for the company’s shareholders’ council are running at the same time. Incumbent Morrinsville Ward representative Malcolm Piggott is unchallenged, while sitting Te Aroha representative Graham Hallett is not up for election so continues in the role.
Shareholders can vote by internet, fax or post, using the single transferable vote (STV) system.
The voting period runs until November 25, with results announced later that day.
Directors’ Election Candidate Roadshow meetings – Thursday, November 14, 2pm, Matamata Club, 9 Waharoa Rd East, Matamata; Te Awamutu Rugby & Sports Club, Albert Park, 9.30am.
