After three away games to start the season and only having one win under the belt the boys needed a good win to keep the seasons hopes alive. Waikere travelled down to Pohlen park on a beautiful day and won the toss and elected to bat. The Hinuera bowlers kept it nice and tight but couldn’t find a break through early. After ten overs A Tappin (4-22-10) entered the attack and took two wickets in two balls to start the rot. Wickets then fell at regular intervals and runs were hard to come by. T Green ( 2- 40- 10) and I Marshall (2-30-10) also claimed a couple of wickets each.

Waikere all out for 167. In reply Hinuera had a great start from M Oshaughnessy
