Police clocked a car driving 141kmh on a rural road north of Matamata. The driver was fined and had their licence suspended.
Police located a Matamata woman who had allegedly stolen from a shop in Cambridge. She was arrested for shoplifting.
Police arrested a 48-year-old man for unlawfully being in an enclosed yard in the early hours of the morning. Further inquiries found the man to be in possession of property stolen from a garden shed last month. Police are dealing with the matter.
Police arrested a 42-year-old man for breach of a liquor ban after he was found walking the street with his two young children, intoxicated and drinking. The man was taken back to the station to sober up then released with a $ 250 alcohol infringement notice.
Wednesday, February 19
Overnight a chiller at a Hutchinson Rd address was entered and $3000 worth of meat was stolen.
Police were called to a Smith St address after a woman turned up and smashed the windows of a car parked at the property. A 22-year-old woman was arrested and will be appearing in the Morrinsville District Court on a charge of wilful damage.
Thursday, February 20
Police carried out a search warrant at a Tawari St address and a 23-yearold man was arrested for cultivating cannabis, possession of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of shotgun cartridges. He will be appearing in Morrinsville District Court.
A 21-year-old woman wanted on numerous warrants in the Tauranga area, including one for removing an electronic monitoring bracelet, was arrested in Matamata and taken to Tauranga.
Friday, February 21
Police attended a minor accident at the intersection of Arawa St and Broadway after a woman in a mobility scooter pulled out onto the road and was bumped off by a car. Noone was injured but there was minor damage to the scooter and car.
Saturday, February 22
Police attended a crash on the Kaimai Range about 9.30am after a car lost control and went through a fence. No-one was injured.
