Chal­lenge taken up by golfers

Chip­ping in: Chal­lenge! Mata­mata has do­nated $1000 to the Mata­mata Girl Guides from funds raised at this year’s Chal­lenge Golf Se­ries. The ‘‘Chal­lenge Chal­lenge’’ was a nine-hole am­brose tour­na­ment run over six weeks at Wal­ton Golf Club. Each week, a ham­per do­nated by New World Mata­mata was raf­fled off, with the fi­nal win­ner to choose where the pro­ceeds ended up. Femke John­son was the lucky win­ner and de­cided the Girl Guides de­served some sup­port. Guide leader Aimee Har­land said the money was a huge help and would likely go to­wards new camp­ing equip­ment.
