Out There and Active for September

Trail Trilogy:

September 21 is your last chance to be part of the Trail Trilogy Fun Run and Walk series. This final leg is a great event for teams as you can have up to eight members completing the 30 kilometres, splitting each leg to suit individual abilities. Entries at sportwai

Matamata BMX:

What a great group of people we have who have volunteered to get the BMX track up to spec and open for business. The vision of the group is to achieve a ‘‘a BMX NZ approved track run by an affiliated club committee responsible for the maintenance and running of a public facility suitable for all ages for the purposes of recreation, fitness and competition.’’

Matamata Piako District Council have provisionally allocated funding but to achieve a competition grade starting ramp we will need more money so would welcome sponsors who can help. Please contact me on 027 226 5297 to discuss this opportunity further.

Sports Awards:

With nominations open I have been looking back at the newspapers sports reports and have my fingers crossed for a great number of nominations as there are definitely a lot of people who deserve to be nominated.

So don’t delay – head straight to sportwai kato. org. nz and celebrate our district sporting successes.

Gear up for Summer:

With winter nearly over, Sport Waikato are turning their attention to summer activities and this year our focus is two wheeled – any bike, anybody, anywhere. With events covering all styles and taking place in Coromandel, Hauraki, Matamata-Piako and South Waikato there is almost certainly an event to suit you or your family.

SPORT SORT: MatamataPiako Sport Waikato coordinator Lou Beer.
