Bank staff spruce up bowling club

Matamata Chronicle - - News - By ABBY BROWN

BNZ employees from the Matamata branch were joined by graduate students and members of the Hamilton branch to spring clean and paint the Hinuera Bowling Club.

It was part of the bank’s annual nationwide Closed for Good event where BNZ banks close for a day so the employees can do work in their communities.

‘‘Like any small sport club, Hinuera Bowling Club is struggling for survival and with its older age group that are not so physically able, this is a good way to help them out,’’ BNZ’s agribusiness partner Debbie White said.

They planned to repaint the perimeter wood fence, clean the club rooms and re-surface the chalk scoreboard.
