Replica sa­mu­rai swords taken, cows go walk­a­bout on high­way

PO­LICE Septem­ber 10

Late in the af­ter­noon Mata­mata po­lice at­tended an as­sault. The 13- year- old of­fender was re­ferred to youth aid for the non­in­jury in­ci­dent. At 4am Mata­mata po­lice had to usher 50 cows off State High­way 29 near Te Poi and back into a pad­dock. In the bur­glary of a Te Poi prop­erty, replica sa­mu­rai swords were taken. A white sta­tion wagon was seen nearby. A trailer was taken from a Walton prop­erty. A Pe­ria Rd prop­erty was bur­gled. Meat, al­co­hol and cus­tom-made game rods were taken. A white sta­tion wagon was again seen. Po­lice at­tended a Tawari St.

A boat and a trailer were taken from a Smith St ad­dress. Two men were warned for or­derly be­hav­iour.

A ve­hi­cle was stopped and the driver had their li­cence sus­pended for three months for ex­ces­sive de­merit points. Po­lice were called to The Ware­house be­cause some­one was shoplift­ing. The of­fender was re­ferred to youth aid.
