Trust heaps praise on hospital volunteers

Matamata Chronicle - - Happy New Year -

Pohlen Hospital volunteers have been thanked for their work in their community.

In thanking the volunteers, Pohlen Foundation Trust chairwoman Lady Margaret Spring said the foundation had had its second highest fundraising year since its inception in 2006.

Over that time the foundation had raised ‘‘significant’’ funds for the hospital, she said. ‘‘We’ve done a lot of work.’’

Next year will again be busy for the trust and hospital volunteers, with the Real Homes and Gardens tour planned, along with a mid-winter Christmas, a prominent persons evening and the ever- popular ladies luncheon.

‘‘And without you, we couldn’t do it, so thank you very much,’’ Lady Margaret said.
