Consistency the key to win

Matamata Chronicle - - Sport -

The annual PGG Wrightson 36-hole foursomes was held at Walton on Saturday January 31.

The course was in great condition considering the very dry conditions.

A large field started the day with the traditional shotgun start.

The morning scoring was difficult, especially a few out of bounds and shots finding water, and only a few played to their handicap or better.

The format allows for little error as every shot counts.

The afternoon was more competitive as half the field played better than their handicap.

The winners with a morning round of 65.5 net and an afternoon round of the same score giving a total of 131 net were John Stevens and Peter Cole- man. Two achieved.

Other players to feature were, runner-up P Davidson & G Wills 136, D Carter & P McKoy 137, B Hollinshead & M Te Patu 137, M Garrud & J Oliver-Booth 138, J Robinson & L Hale 138, G Bonden & A Foster 138, K Yang & L Chen 140, K Sullivan & B Needham 140, D Sharp & I Wilson 141.
