Local Matamata couple Mike and Glennis Gaeng exhibited in the recent Autumn Festival in Cambridge for the first time.

Glennis is a self-taught artist who is very creative and loves to paint coastal scenes.

‘‘It wasn’t a first-time experience but it was a first time exhibiting in Cambridge. It was very good and I really enjoyed it. I got a lot of great feedback,’’ Glennis says.

She has been painting for at least 10 years and, alongside her husband, used to have a shop in Tauranga where they lived.

Glennis used to go to various markets, belonged to the art society at Mount Maunganui and used to exhibit over there.

‘‘I have always been painting, I love it.’’
