Be­low is a list of coun­cil fa­cil­i­ties and ser­vices that you’ll find help­ful to know.

Mata­mata-Pi­ako Dis­trict Coun­cil have of­fices in Mata­mata, Te Aroha and Mor­rinsville.

The Mata­mata area of­fice can be found on the cor­ner of Tainui and Tui streets.

Postal ad­dress for all coun­cil of­fices is PO Box 266, Te Aroha 3342 and the of­fices are open Mon­dayFri­day, 8am-5pm.

Kerb­side Col­lec­tion

Mata­mata-Pi­ako Dis­trict Coun­cil has a weekly rub­bish and re­cy­cling col­lec­tion ser­vice for about 8000 house­holds and busi­nesses in the dis­trict.

If you are un­sure whether the col­lec­tion in­cludes your prop­erty, phone cus­tomer ser­vices on 0800 746 467.

Your rub­bish and re­cy­cling col­lec­tion in­cludes: Your black rub­bish bag, which is col­lected weekly and should in­clude any­thing that should go to land­fill.

Your green bin ( glass only) is col­lected fort­nightly and is for empty glass bot­tles and jars ( not bro­ken).

Your yel­low wheelie bin (all other re­cy­clables) is also col­lected fort­nightly and is for clean house­hold plas­tic such as soft drink, milk bot­tles, clean tins/cans and pa­per and card­board.

Use of­fi­cial MatamataPiako Dis­trict Coun­cil refuse bags ( 20kg max per bag).

Prop­er­ties that are rated for refuse will re­ceive a voucher with their rates no­tice once a year en­ti­tling them to 52 rub­bish bags, which can be col­lected from the coun­cil of­fice.

Refuse and Re­cy­cling Trans­fer Sta­tions

Man­gawhero Rd, 888 5700, open Tues­day, Wed­nes­day, Thurs­day, Satur­day and Sun­day 10am-4pm.

Ex­cess house­hold rub­bish ( in of­fi­cial MPDC refuse bags) and re­cy­cling (sorted ap­proved re­cy­clables) can be dis­posed of for free at any trans­fer sta­tion


Mata­mata Li­brary is lo­cated on Tui St, 888 7157.

The li­brary is closed on Sun­days and public hol­i­days.
