Garage sale ahead of move

Matamata Chronicle - - News -

Starfish Social Services are holding a garage sale in preparation for a big move.

Social worker Jordyn Crawford said the organisation, which used to be based above the post office, put a lot of equipment and gear into storage when they moved to Firth St. It was only supposed to be temporary. She said the current building being used isn’t as professional as Jo McNaughton would like it to be. Crawford said the building was cold and damp.

The community organisation is hoping to clear out all sorts of gear they’ve held in storage for months while also fundraising for brand new equipment.

‘‘ Starfish Social Services is looking at relocating in order to continue our services. Our garage sale will include everything we need to part with before we make a move.

‘‘We will be looking at raising money to move forward and also ensuring our items go to a good home,’’ Crawford said.

Available at the garage sale, being held this Saturday, will be a wide variety of gear including ball gowns, tools, furnishings, bagged wood and much more.

Starfish will be keeping items like their pool table, ping pong table and foosball.
