Nick Lang is confident he is prepared for his second corporate fight. The Walton Boxing Club member is fighting at Fightback 2015, an event held at Fighting Fit Boxing Club in Hamilton on June 27.

Although he got into the sport initially for fitness, he said he was underprepared when he made his corporate fighting debut last September. ‘‘ My fitness was not up to scratch. I feel way more confident now ‘cause I’m training every week night or sparring in Hamilton,’’ he said.

The club members train Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the old Walton Scout hall. On Tuesday and Thursday they travel around the area’s gyms to spar.

The boxing club has 25 members, including Jacob Henderson, who is planning to fight in a corporate event in Hamilton in August.

The club also trains the North Island novice champion Zep Clark-Lynn.

The club is encouraging people

to come along and train with them. ‘‘Even if you don’t want to be a boxer; if you play rugby, netball or squash then the training is good for everything,’’ McIntyre said.
