Matamata Chronicle - - Your Paper, Your Place -

Sitting in the sun, soaking up the atmosphere at yet another great community event is certainly an enviable position to be in. I often hear the sentence ‘what a great job you have, you must meet so many interesting people’.

That statement is exactly how I feel and even more so while I was sitting at the St Joseph’s Catholic School’s Spring Fashion Soiree on Saturday afternoon.

The fantastic women behind this event wanted to put their beloved school on the map and boy did they do that. The event was simply stunning. A tennis court full of women celebrating fashion and all it does for us. It was a first for the school, putting on such an event, but I certainly hope it won’t be the last. The funds raised will now be used to market what the school has to offer in the hope the roll will increase. Organisers implore parents to not discard their school, but to head along and check it out. See next week’s Chronicle for photos from the event. Enjoy your long weekend but please, be safe out there!
