Twilight hockey now an option
Twilight hockey starts in Matamata tonight.
Dust off your shin pads, grab a stick and mouth guard and head along. The action will be based at the Matamata College turf every Wednesday night from 5.30pm-7.30pm.
Organiser Tracey Cameron said you don’t need to organise a team, just head along and get involved as teams will be sorted on the night. Games will be played on half turf size with six players per side. Games will be 16 minutes with a two minute half time break. If you haven’t played for a while there have been a few rule changes but don’t fret, just come along and ask the ‘young’ ones if you’re not sure. Goalies are encouraged to come but you will need to bring your own gear. Players will need to be available to ref when not playing so please bring your whistle along.
Games will start at 5.45pm so be there at 5.30pm to warm up and to register your name for the night. If you know anyone in the surrounding areas that would be keen to play, such as Tirau, Putaruru, Cambridge, Morrinsville or Te Aroha, please let them know. For more information head to the Matamata twilight hockey page on Facebook and add yourself to the group. Cost $2.
