Matamata Chronicle - - Your Paper, Your Place -

There’s been a bit of debate on the Matamata Chronicle’s Facebook page about our decision to post photos of a car crash on Morrinsville-Walton Rd last week. A few said we were sensationalist while someone suggested we’d do anything for a story and we were ambulance chasers who got a kick out of an emergency situation. Honestly, this couldn’t be further from the truth.

A reader had sent us photos from the crash outside their house and we, being in the news business, simply shared that with our followers with a ‘stay safe out there’ message.

In every single situation like this we have the best interests of the victims at heart.

We care about our community and every time we are simply trying to share a message.

The topic has certainly sparked debate about safety on our roads following the story we featured in last week’s Chronicle and the tragic fatal accident at that very site over the weekend. I’d love to hear your thoughts. Why not drop me a line? - Teresa
