Matamata Chronicle - - Your Paper, Your Place -

Some say it might be a little early to discuss Christmas, but I’ve been ready for the festive season since the middle of the year when I was lucky enough to see the Mid Winter Christmas Festival.

Yes, I admit it, I’m one of those people who put up their decorations on December 1. I even wear Christmas earrings and might even find a Christmas themed pen this year. So with this in mind, I was very excited to hear the Bayleys Christmas lights tour is back again for 2015.

Matamata residents are encouraged to put together a light display on and around their homes for the public to see in December. There are always a hardy group of people who get involved but we’d love to see new families get into the Christmas spirit this year. Together with Bayleys and Mitre 10, the Chronicle is also asking Matamata businesses to sprinkle a little Christmas joy around their stores this festive season. See page 10 for more detail, but please get involved, Christmas only comes around once a year.
