Matamata Chronicle - - Your Paper, Your Place -

As I sit here writing this, now that the calendar tells me it’s December, I have my Christmas earrings dangling from my ears.

This time of year is busy for us here at the Chronicle.

There is plenty on, from Christmas parties at childcare centres and the Christmas parade to choir concerts and Christmas at the Park. It may be a busy time but it’s also a time to remember those that are less fortunate.

In next week’s Chronicle we will feature details of the annual Matamata Community Christmas Dinner.

Volunteers aplenty come out on Christmas Day (and many beforehand) to prepare a fantastic lunch for those that are less fortunate or for those who are lonely. If you and your family would like to make a difference this year, I’d ask you to consider giving your time to this cause. It’s because of special people like those who organise the Community Christmas Dinner that make my heart swell with all those fuzzy feelings this festive season.
