Sponsors needed for adventure

The only mountain Mike Boston has climbed in his life is Mt Tongariro, which is a third of Mt Aconcagua’s height at 1,978m.

Boston’s main role will be to film and document the journey, climb and hopefully the summit moment.

Two months later, in April 2016, Boston and Dave Williams will attempt the full sea2summit of Mt Denali, in Alaska, which is 6,194m. This will involve running six marathons in six days from Anchorage, Alaska to the edge of the Denali National Park and then trekking amongst wolves and bears to the base of the Kahiltna Glacier. ‘‘We will then have to climb onto the glacier and navigate a further 57km, to arrive on foot at Denali base camp.’’

The pair are currently fundraising and seeking sponsorship for the adventures. A givealittle page has been set up. ‘‘This is an immense mission for me, the scale of which is almost overwhelming, but with my experienced offsider who has already ticked of three of the renowned seven summits I believe I can help him complete these next two,’’ Boston said.

January’s mission will be Dave Williams’ third attempt at Mt Aconcagua.
