Matamata police are seeking sightings and information about something strange.
‘‘If anyone saw anything strange, like someone leaving from an address pushing a mower at speed, advise the Matamata police,’’ Matamata sergeant Craig Thorne said. The information relates to a burglary of an open garage on Western Rd that occurred some time between November 14 and November 26. A lawnmower and earmuffs were taken.

Matamata police are also seeking information regarding a 2010 black Mercury nine horsepower outboard motor which was stolen off a boat on Waihou St. If any members of the public have seen this, or have been offered this to buy, contact the Matamata police.
A rural property on Paratu Rd was targeted in a burglary. Matamata police encourage people to be vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour or vehicles. ‘‘Please attempt to note down the vehicle’s numberplate, but don’t put yourself at risk by doing so,’’ Thorne said.
A valuable White Scott mountain bike was stolen from the Matamata Aerodrome, near the asparagus field. The bike is distinctive with road bike tyres on it. If anyone has any information about this then phone the Matamata police.
