Mata­mata Rac­ing Club is play­ing host to the per­fect Christ­mas func­tion on Wed­nes­day, De­cem­ber 16.

The club’s an­nual twi­light race meet­ing is back again for 2015.

A num­ber of op­tions are avail­able for the pub­lic this year, in­clud­ing car boot spots or the twi­light mistle­toe lawn party pack­age which in­cludes full ca­ter­ing.

This op­tion means no fuss, just turn up and put your feet up. Cost for this is $105 per head with all food and al­co­hol in­cluded.

Mata­mata Rac­ing Club is invit­ing ev­ery­one to head along to their last race meet­ing of the year, the Twi­light Christ­mas races next week.

The first race of the day is at 2.57pm with rac­ing con­tin­u­ing through to around 7pm.

Mata­mata Rac­ing Club spon­sor­ship man­ager Jaye Clark said ev­ery­one who heads along to the twi­light race meet­ing each year has a great time.

‘‘It’s a nice re­lax­ing end of the year with friends and fam­ily.’’

The meet also pro­vides a great op­por­tu­nity to cap of the year for lo­cal Mata­mata train­ers who are all do­ing so well at the mo­ment, she said.

The event will fea­ture chil­dren’s en­ter­tain­ment and plenty of food on course. Santa is also ex­pected to stop by for a visit.

Rac­ing starts again at Mata­mata Rac­ing Club in 2016 on Jan­uary 15 be­fore con­tin­u­ing on Jan­uary 30 and Fe­bru­ary 14 ahead of the big meet of the year, the J Swap Breed­ers’ Stakes and the Fash­ion in the Field, on Fe­bru­ary 27.

Thurs­day, De­cem­ber 17: Late night shop­ping. A num­ber of busi­nesses open un­til 7.30pm. Sun­day, De­cem­ber 20: A num­ber of busi­nesses will be open from 10am-2pm for that spot of last minute Christ­mas shop­ping. Mon­day, De­cem­ber 21: Christ­mas Ser­vice at the Wal­ton Com­mu­nity Church at Wal­ton, 7.15pm, fol­lowed by sup­per and carols by can­dle­light at 8.30pm. Items by mem­bers of the Mata­mata Brass Band and the ukulele ladies. All are very wel­come. Wed­nes­day, De­cem­ber 23: Mata­mata Busi­ness As­so­ci­a­tion $10,000 shop­ping spree draw at Tone­zone on Broad­way, 12 noon. Fri­day, De­cem­ber 25: Com­mu­nity Christ­mas lunch, St John Am­bu­lance Hall, 11.45am on­wards. A free sit­down meal for those in need or lonely. Fri­day, Jan­uary 15: Mata­mata Rac­ing Club’s first meet­ing of the year. Rac­ing kicks off around 12.30pm. Satur­day, Jan­uary 16: 50th Walsh Me­mo­rial Scout Fly­ing School cel­e­bra­tions at Mata­mata aero­drome.
