Why not enjoy the twilight races this festive season?
Matamata Racing Club is playing host to the perfect Christmas function on Wednesday, December 16.
The club’s annual twilight race meeting is back again for 2015.
A number of options are available for the public this year, including car boot spots or the twilight mistletoe lawn party package which includes full catering.
This option means no fuss, just turn up and put your feet up. Cost for this is $105 per head with all food and alcohol included.
Matamata Racing Club is inviting everyone to head along to their last race meeting of the year, the Twilight Christmas races next week.
The first race of the day is at 2.57pm with racing continuing through to around 7pm.
Matamata Racing Club sponsorship manager Jaye Clark said everyone who heads along to the twilight race meeting each year has a great time.
‘‘It’s a nice relaxing end of the year with friends and family.’’
The meet also provides a great opportunity to cap of the year for local Matamata trainers who are all doing so well at the moment, she said.
The event will feature children’s entertainment and plenty of food on course. Santa is also expected to stop by for a visit.
Racing starts again at Matamata Racing Club in 2016 on January 15 before continuing on January 30 and February 14 ahead of the big meet of the year, the J Swap Breeders’ Stakes and the Fashion in the Field, on February 27.
