Mata­mata’s wa­ter sup­ply is ex­pected to come un­der pres­sure.

The town is on level one re­stric­tion, at which res­i­dents are en­cour­aged to con­serve wa­ter. The Mata­mata-Pi­ako District coun­cil’s web­site has many tips on how to do that, in­clud­ing turn­ing off the shower when you are wash­ing your hair or shav­ing.

Mata­mata has four wa­ter re­stric­tion lev­els, with level four mean­ing all use of wa­ter out­side the house is banned. coffee you buy at O’del’emz will see a do­na­tion given to the town’s hos­pi­tal.

A good friend sug­gested a cafe in Hamil­ton which picks out a char­ity once a month.

The pro­mo­tion is open to any busi­nesses want­ing to take part.

It was just tak­ing the idea and lo­cal­is­ing, he said.
