FUNDS FOR SHUT­TLE COME IN

Mata­mata Se­nior Ci­ti­izens gave the Mata­mata Health Shut­tle $650 at their Christ­mas party last year. The funds were raised through a street raf­fle.

The cheque was pre­sented to the Shut­tle com­mit­tee af­ter Elvis im­per­son­ator Al­lan Snoad en­ter­tained Mata­mata Se­nior Cit­i­zens mem­bers at their Christ­mas lunch on De­cem­ber 3. Since the ser­vice was es­tab­lished in May 2008, its three shut­tles have notched up more than 611,000 kilo­me­tres fer­ry­ing over 15,000 pas­sen­gers to and from Waikato Hos­pi­tal as well as other hospi­tals and clin­ics in the re­gion.
