Matamata Chronicle - - Your Paper, Your Place -

I love my job.

Well, this week I definitely loved my job more than normal.

How many times can you say that you were inspired by both a 10-year-old footballer and a couple running a bed and breakfast?

It is a pretty special job, even if it’s not the best paying!

There are so many issues that the world, and our country, is dealing with at the moment – the TPPA, flag referendums, fluoride, 1080 are just a few, but when you are in touch with your own community there’s no escaping the positivity.

People like Harry Chittick are the people that make the world go around.

He tragically lost his mother 18 months ago but do you think that stopped the 10-year-old from getting on with life? Definitely not. And that’s what a place like Matamata breeds and it’s just so heart-warming to be able to celebrate that kind of passion and zest for life.
